A drawing and woven design approach, researching the imitation of colour in light. Developing an enjoyable study of composition through collage and pencil drawings. Taking advantage of the organzines (warp) nature to dip in and out of the ‘tinged and concentrated’ effect light has on colour.
Working with fine ( embroidery) yarns to gain control over colour quantities to produce channels of charged lines. Feeding influences from fashion design & trends (checks and stripes).
The colour for the project has been informed by a light experiment, reflecting light off the surfaces of discs and recording the most consistent palette I could find. The selected body of drawing development displays the importance of opacity vs concentration in the project by using mediums such as pencil and tracing paper with the idea, like when weaving, to add another layer/thread to strengthen the colour.
